A large amount of medical data can only be used to a very limited extent, due to high data protection requirements. This highly sensitive data is essential for drug and therapy research. The „AUDITOR“ research project therefore aims to create clarity and more legal certainty in this area and, based on preliminary work from the "Trusted Cloud" technology programme, to develop uniform certification throughout Europe, incorporating established standardisation: An interdisciplinary team of scientists and companies is developing a data protection certification for cloud services, which is to be used as a standard in practice throughout Europe on the basis of the new EU data protection law.
